(ITI) is pleased to announce its 4th
round of Egypt Annual Big Data Hackathon, happening on the 9-11th
February, 2017 at the ITI Premises – Smart Village. This year the event is held in partnership with TERADATA.
Pursuing the successful journey ITI started in 2014 by organizing series of Big Data Hackathons in partnership with different leading technology vendors, national institutions and private sector businesses to develop new ideas & insights to solve pressing challenges in the society, major business problems or propose new projects’ ideas bringing together the big data tools & innovation.
Egypt Big Data Hackathon features different pillars of exploration accompanied by hands-on practices. This year, Egypt Big Data Hackathon is proposing data & case studies that include consumer goods, transportations & social media. The data is exclusively provided in partnership with prominent governmental entities to the Hackathon participants during the 3-day event.
The technology day on Thursday, 9 February, will be accommodating back-to-back talks from the partners, industry experts and data owners. The talks will be followed by interactive technical workshops featuring the recent trends in the industry. The day is dedicated to enabling the next generation data platform for all types of audience, whether you are a student pursuing a big data/data science career, a big data professional, programmer or a decision maker.
Participants within the following two days will be working with the data sets, developing insights and recommendations to solve business problems and find new opportunities for the businesses to grow. Coaching will be provided throughout the 2-day hackathon by professional coaches from the pioneering technology vendors as well as subject matter experts from the big data domain.
A closing ceremony will be held on Saturday, 11 February; where the winning projects will be awarded prizes after judging by a jury panel hosting technical & business gurus.

Full Hackathon participants are granted an overnight stay at the ITI premises to work on their solutions upon a prior registration.
